(Things for him to ask me are okay too, I guess)

I don’t know what you should ask him but you should respond to all his questions with pace notes.

For you to ask: What’s the weirdest guest he’s ever had?

For him to ask: What’s the biggest abomination you left in my* toilet?

I actually have a question for you that you can answer right now - do you guys have any need for a pit crew member at events? (I’d probably work for free, but if you want to pay me a small amount that would be nice, too). It seems like it would be a lot of fun.

Questions for him to ask you - what is the closest that you’ve come to not walking away from a crash? And when you crash, is it more often the drivers’ fault, or your own fault (be honest)?

I co-drive for multiple teams, each with it’s own crew requirements and standards. Most of the guys I’ve been sitting with lately insist upon hiring pro/semi-pro service crews with years of experience servicing rally cars.

That said, there are always teams looking for crew members at a rally. Offer to help on one of the rally forums or facebook pages and it’s a virtual guarantee someone will take you up on it. Getting paid is a big ask until you’ve been around for a while and have proven your worth, but you can pretty much count on the team at least paying for your meals and lodging at the event, and sometimes the cost of your transportation to/from the event as well.

Or at least all your responses should sound like you ARE reading pace notes.

Amateurs like me get volunteer crews all the time. My crew is almost entirely people from the local rallycross scene
